Abstract
The use of conducted electrical weapons by law enforcement has remained controversial, given an association with traumatic injuries and sudden death in custody. As these weapons proliferate among civilians, the risk of misuse and subsequent injury increases. We report a case of civilian conducted electrical weapon use where incapacitation from the weapon was used to inflict additional trauma on the patient. Emergency physicians should be aware of the growing risk of civilian use of such weapons.
