Abstract

Jaundice appearing in a patient with acholecystoduodenal fistula was found to bedue to an inflammatory polyp of the gallbladder which acted as a ball-valve mechanismby prolapsing through the fistula intothe duodenum. A brief review of the pathophysiologyof certain aspects and clinicalfeatures of biliary-enteric fistulas is presented. A search of the literature has failedto reveal a similar case.
