Abstract

Although the diagnosis of human cardiac allograft rejection depends on the histologic evaluation of endomyocardial biopsies, the infiltrating cells that characterize rejection cannot be adequately classified by this light microscope evaluation. Recent reports have applied hybridoma monoclonal antibody technology to this problem, and we have used it to further define the cellular events of cardiac allograft rejection in situ.
