Abstract

Presentation of Case First admission. A 35-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of cyanotic congenital heart disease. He was born of an uncomplicated pregnancy; no abnormality was detected at birth. His growth and development were considered normal until the age of two years, when pneumonia developed, and a murmur and cyanosis were first noted; he recovered but remained cyanotic. He participated in sports, performed heavy farm chores and played varsity baseball in college.
