Abstract
Over the past decade, evidence has grown to support the use of the transradial (TR) approach in carotid and vertebral artery stenting. Benefits of this approach include fewer access site complications and, in select cases, avoidance of tortuous anatomy when navigating to the target lesion. This chapter aims to guide the reader through the utilization of TR access in carotid and vertebral artery interventions. It begins with an explanation of the basic technique and equipment necessary for supra-aortic vessel selection via the TR approach, followed by four real-world examples of how these techniques can be used in practice.
