Abstract
New test modalities for detecting coronary artery disease present problems as well as opportunities: What criteria can we use to determine which patients should undergo what tests? Here, in the context of how sensitivity, specificity, and disease prevalence-thus probability-affect testing efficiency, the authors clarify the issue of cost-effective use of stress testing in daily practice.
