Calculation of optical properties of Tm3+ in MFT glass by J-O theory

Abstract

In this paper the optical properties of Tm3+ in MFT glass are reported. Optical absorption spectrum has been measured. Lifetimes for different levels'have been obtained and oscillator strengths and radiative rates for some transitions have been calculated using the Judd-Ofelt theory. The both blue upcpnversion emissions were measured, the relationship between excited power and intensity of upconversion luminescence. The cross sections of 1D23H4 and 1G 43H6 transitions of Tm3+ were calculated.
