Abstract

Objective: To study the biocompatibility of carbon nanotubes/hydroxyapitite composite (CNTs/HAP). Methods: X-ray, histology observation and molecular biology were carried out for 1-12 weeks after CNTs/HAP was implanted into the right tibia of rabbit. Result: The composites could induce ossification without rejection. There was not significant difference between the composites. Conclusion: CNTs/HAP have acceptable biocompatibility.
