Abstract
This work was directed at extending the use of enzyme-catalyzed polytransesterification reactions to a polysaccharide. Inulin polyesters with Mn greater than 20 000 Da (corresponding to the polymerization of five units of inulin) were obtained with DVA molecules attached to the inulin backbone at the 6-position on the fructofuranoside residue, mainly by both ester termini (R2) and by a small extent through single ester termini (R1).
