Abstract

A patient with complete atrioventricular block after hemodialysis (HD) for which he had a permanent pacemaker implanted showed attenuation of the amplitude of the intrinsic and paced QRS complexes while awaiting HD, and augmentation of paced QRS complexes after HD. These QRS perturbations correlated with the changes in his weight. The mechanism of these phenomena and their clinical implications are discussed.
