Abstract

Risk factors for thrombosis and restenosis are similar. In restenosis after balloon angioplasty, angioscopy, atherectomy and autopsies are commonly performed. The mechanisms of thrombus formation at the angioplasty site are reviewed and therapeutical goals of antithrombotic therapy indicated in light of cellular proliferation and migration.
