Abstract
The use of morphimetric techniques to study nucleotide excision repairs in mammalian cells following exposure to ultraviolet radiation is reported. Studies of genetic heterogeneity among persons with xeroderma pig-mentosum, using unscheduled DNA synthesis, are described. These studies have prompted a reassessment of the etiology of the disease. The resulting model, call the corecessive inheritance model, is presented and its implications examined.
