Abstract

Previous experiments suggest that pharmacological perturbations of the brain dopaminergic system may be reflected by concentrations of plasma homovanillic acid. This study examined the ability of low-dose apomorphine to reduce plasma homovanillic acid concentrations in schizophrenic patients chronically treated with neuroleptics. The data suggest that apromorphine dose not reduced plasma homovanillic acid in those patients.
