Abstract
To prepare physicians, no matter their specialty, to care for older adults with evidence-based, person-centered care is an urgent imperative. This chapter reviews the 4Ms of the Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative and the Geriatrics 5M frameworks, important shared conceptual models for how to teach and improve the care of older adults. These frameworks will be referred to frequently throughout this book as a common thread in teaching Geriatrics to a variety of learners across a variety of settings, all with the common goal of delivering the person-centered care we all deserve as we age.
