Abstract

A Ktl V of 1.0 or greater has been oflered as a guideline for adequate dialysis treatment, independ‐ ent of the time of dialysis. Most of these studies have been performed with cellulosic‐based membranes, and recently the necessity for a KtlV of this magnitude has been questioned for membranes with high middle molecular clearances. Do you feel that diflerent Ktl V standards should apply for diflerent mem‐ brane materials? Are there any formal studies looking at Ktl V with noncellulosic membranes?
