Abstract
Conventional and novel regional anesthesia techniques are available for hernia repairs involving various parts of the abdominal wall. These techniques have opioid sparing benefits, and helps with postoperative recovery and hospital discharge. As with all regional anesthetic, rare complications such as hemorrhagic, infectious, neurologic, and local anesthetic systemic toxicity (LAST) exist. We highlight abdominal fascial plane blocks that are available and management of rare complications with a focus on LAST.
