Abstract

Semimagnetic semiconductor Zn1-xMnxSe (x = 0.01) exhibits a broad band absorption in the region of band edge. The absorption is easily blue-shifted with the pump-probe system. The optical bistability is obtained for the first time in a wide range of excitation wavelength. The origination of the nonlinear and bistable effects is discussed.
