Abstract

The four-carbon homologation of aldehydes to E,E-dienamines can be achieved efficiently under mild conditions by iodomethylenation with CrCl₂-CHI₃, with subsequent Pd-catalyzed coupling to the vinylstannane 4 followed by mild cleavage of the FMOC group.
