Abstract

Previous studies have highlighted the immune-dampening effects of apoptotic cell uptake by phagocytes. Ohyagi etal. (2013) expose a unique mechanism of immune regulation during viral infection, which is mediated through phagocytosis of apoptotic red cells by dendritic cells.
