Abstract

6β-Hydroxy-Δ1-tetrahydrocannabinol, a metabolite of Δ1-tetrahydrocannabinol has been synthesized from Δ6- tetrahydrocannabinol. It shows high tetrahydrocannabinol-type activity in rhesus monkeys. The implications of this finding are discussed.
