Abstract
Combating diabetes: The new fibrate-like compounds 1 were synthesized and showed antidiabetic and hypolipidemic activities in diabetic mice and in models of hyperlipidemia and PPARα activation. The acid form is an especially promising candidate for further investigation and preclinical development as a hypolipidemic and insulin-sensitizing agent.
