Project Details
Description
This experiment will investigate the therapeutic potential of non-invasive gene delivery for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). We propose delivering brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) or a BDNF receptor-specific agonist to the brain using MRI-guided focused ultrasound. The results of these experiments could demonstrate a novel AD treatment strategy using targeted gene delivery to restore memory.
