Biography
Dr. Bowe is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in cutting-edge treatments for acne and skin rejuvenation. Subsequent to graduating summa cum laude from Yale University, she was awarded a full tuition merit-based scholarship to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Upon graduating at the top of her class, Dr. Bowe pursued her dermatology residency at the State University of New York/Downstate Medical Center under the mentorship of international acne expert, Dr. Alan Shalita. In the field of acne research, Dr. Bowe’s extensive work has garnered international media attention from CNN, BBC, NBC, and NPR. She is the author of over 20 articles and book chapters, and has lectured and presented her research at over 25 national and international conferences. Her microbiological work has resulted in a patent-pending technology with therapeutic potential as a naturally-derived topical agent for acne sufferers. Dr. Bowe is frequently asked to provide her expert opinion on topics such as the relationship between diet and acne, procedural treatments for acne, antibiotic resistance, and the psychosocial impact of skin disease. Dr. Bowe has been awarded research grant support by organizations including the American Dermatological Association, the Skin Cancer Foundation, the American Acne and Rosacea Society, and the Doris Duke Foundation. She is a Medical Advisory Consultant for the Rosacea Research & Development Institute and serves a member of the Young Physicians Council for the Orlando Dermatology Aesthetic & Clinical Conference. She has been listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America and has been named a Beckman Scholar, a Westinghouse Scholar, and a Gamble scholar. Dr. Bowe is a strong advocate for patient and resident education. She devotes time as a voluntary attending, teaching residents and fellows of the Mount Sinai Dermatology Department during her cosmetic clinic sessions. During these sessions, she shares her knowledge of cosmetic procedures including Botox, Dysport, dermal fillers and chemical peels. In addition, Dr. Bowe holds the rank of Clinical Instructor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
