Biography

Dr. Rachel Levene is an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Levene serves as an Attending in the Pediatric Emergency Department at The Mount Sinai Hospital and is academic and core faculty for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital.


Dr. Levene completed her fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore and her residency in Pediatrics at The SUNY Downstate Medical Center / Kings County Hospital Center, where she also served as Chief Resident.


Previous to medical school, Dr. Levene was a lead science public school teacher for the New York City Department of Education. Her primary interests are in graduate medical education, curriculum development, teaching and trainee and learner assessment.


Dr. Levene is fluent in English and conversant in Spanish and Hebrew.
