Biography

Dr. Jogendra completed his undergraduate education at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada with an Honors B.Sc. degree (Major in Neuroscience and Specialist in Biological Science). He then received his M.Sc. degree (in Biomedical Sciences) from Marshall University in Huntington, WV after which he was involved in the monitoring of multi-center, multinational pharmaceutical clinical trials. He obtained his medical degree with Honors from the National University of Ireland, Galway and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Bassett Medical Center-Columbia University in Cooperstown, NY. He concluded his Fellowship training in Cardiology-Hypertension at Mount Sinai/James J. Peters Bronx VA Medical Center prior to joining the Hospital Medicine faculty at Mount Sinai. Throughout his education and training Dr. Jogendra has been integrally involved in his community, and in various quality and safety initiatives in numerous committees with a commitment to provide comprehensive, safe and quality patient centered care. Currently, Dr. Jogendra is a Course Director of the Hospital Medicine Elective Program, serves as an MD/Ph.D student preceptor, 3rd Year Medical Student preceptor, Pre-Op Evaluation Resident orientation, and sits on various committees including Readmissions, High Value Care/Drivers of Overuse, and Post-Acute Care Transitions. His interests are in hypertension, medical education, quality of healthcare improvement and patient safety, and clinical research.
