Dr. Maria Brito is a Board Certified Endocrinologist and the Director of the Mount Sinai Thyroid Center located in Union Square. She was the creator and Director of the Thyroid Unit at Northwell Health where she developed a multidisciplinary program for Thyroid Care along with a thorough curriculum for the Endocrinology Fellowship program. Dr. Brito holds the Endocrine Certification for Neck Ultrasound ECNU) granted by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and is also accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine (AIUM). She performs over 500 Thyroid/Parathyroid sonograms and ultrasound guided biopsies a year. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Medical School in the Dominican Republic and proceeded with Internal Medicine training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida. She sub-specialized in Endocrinology at Albany Medical College and has been practicing medicine for over 10 years. Her clinical focus includes Thyroid/ Parathyroid Disorders and Weight Management.
