Biography

Dr. Kam is interested in understanding how sleep and one of the most common sleep disorders, sleep apnea, contribute to impairments in memory and increased risk for Alzheimer’s disease. In both animal models and humans, Dr. Kam is actively investigating computational methods to measure sleep as well as translational approaches to modulate sleep, a conserved behavior that itself plays a role in the development of neurodegeneration.
