Jean Hsieh, MD, MS, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Hsieh joined the Mount Sinai faculty in August 2017 as Director of the newly expanded Medical Progressive Care Unit and Director of Quality for the Division. In these two roles, Dr. Hsieh’s goals are 1) to promote compassionate patient- and family-centered care using the most advanced evidence-based practices, 2) to ensure the best delivery of care for our patients by standardizing clinical processes, and 3) to promote the development and wellness of our outstanding multidisciplinary team of trainees and providers. Prior to joining Mount Sinai, Dr. Hsieh was an Assistant and Associate Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where she completed a Masters in Clinical Research Methods, pursued her interests in ICU delirium, geriatric critical care, and early rehabilitation as a funded researcher, and discovered her passion for advancing patient care through quality and performance improvement strategies. Her areas of clinical expertise include ICU delirium, geriatric critical care, ICU early rehabilitation, and quality improvement.
