Biography

Jason Filopei, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. He completed his medical training at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York and both his Internal Medicine Residency and Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. He currently is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and serves as the Assistant Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Jason Filopei's clinical research interests lie in utilizing point of care ultrasound in the critically ill. He has published in peer reviewed journals on use of lung ultrasound in patients with dyspnea and qualitative assessment of the right ventricle in patient's with acute pulmonary embolism. He has served as both regional and international faculty to teach critical care ultrasound through the American College of Chest Physicians. He also co-founded the the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team at Mount Sinai Beth Israel with Dr. David Steiger, a multi-disciplinary service meant to provide rapid, efficient and evidence based care for high risk patients. He serves on several hospital wide committee including Sepsis and Critical Care and currently chairs the Rapid Response Team
