Biography
Dr. Herbert S. Lempel is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He graduated of Yeshiva University where he received both his Bachelor of Arts and A.A. degrees. He then went on to study medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York where he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his internship and residency programs at Booth Memorial Medical Center in Flushing, New York. Dr. Lempel was the founder, President and Chairman of the Board of NY Primary Care (1994 -1999), a physician group practice without walls. He began the process in 1989 and incorporated in 1994. The group had over 20 primary care physicians and more than 20 specialists in 28 locations around Queens, New York. Dr. Lempel was also President of NYPC (New York Primary Care) IPA from 1996 to 1999. Additionally, Dr. Lempel was Vice President and Founder of Healthreach NY Foundation which provided free medical care to the working uninsured. Dr. Lempel has been practicing internal medicine in the Forest Hills, Queens area for more than thirty years with offices on Queens Boulevard, and on Yellowstone Boulevard as a member of LFL Internal Medicine Associates which transitioned to the Mount Sinai LFL Group. With a new practice name, Mount Sinai Doctors Forest Hills, and a new location, 99 – 01 Queens Boulevard, Rego Park, New York, 11374, Dr. Lempel will be continuing his practice of internal medicine in a new state of the art medical facility. Dr. Lempel’s primary goal as a practitioner is to ensure that each of his patients receives the highest available standard of medical care. His focus has been on community health and taking care of patients, not for just a visit, but for a lifetime. Some patient comments are: “I have consistently liked Dr. Lempel.
