ASSISTANT PROFESSOR | Oncological Sciences
Franco Izzo, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Oncological Sciences. With a background in molecular biology, oncology, and computational biology, Dr. Izzo conducts research focused on the mechanisms of onset and progression of blood cancers, specifically the interphase between the genome, epigenome, and phenotypic output. Dr. Izzo holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Buenos Aires. Prior to joining Mount Sinai, he was a postdoctoral fellow and Instructor of Molecular Biology in Medicine in the laboratory of Dan Landau, MD, PhD, at Weill Cornell Medicine and the New York Genome Center where he focused on single cell genotype-to-phenotype mapping in clonal hematopoiesis and myeloproliferative neoplasms.
