Natl. Medical Ctr. Biography Dr. Edward Raab is Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics at Mount Sinai. He organized its Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Service, and has been its Director since completion of his fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., while maintaining an active patient care and consulting practice. He has trained additional fellows and provided basic experience in this field to resident physicians at Mount Sinai and as Visiting Professor at many medical institutions in the United States and abroad. Dr. Raab serves as President of the American Orthoptic Council and is one of the founders and presently a Director of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Dr. Raab received his M.D. from New York University College of Medicine. His prolific career at Mount Sinai has included training almost four decades of ophthalmologists and orthoptists pursuing their studies in pediatric ophthalmology. He is an honored member of over 20 medical and professional organizations. In 1994, Dr. Raab completed a degree in Law from the Fordham University School of Law and now holds memberships in numerous Bar associations, including the American College of Legal Medicine. He has published over 59 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has authored or coauthored over 58book chapters and numerous reviews and abstracts. Dr. Raab is a sought-after lecturer; his speaking engagements have taken him all over the globe.
