Founder and Chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine at Mt Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, Dr. Rizk also holds the academic appointment as Associate Professor at Mt Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, and previously at Albert Einstein School of Medicine. Dr. Rizk specializes in Inpatient Medicine, managing a group of 30 physicians and 19 physician assistants responsible for the care of over 11,000 admitted patients per year. She has developed a successful Surgical Co-Management Service as well as opened the hospital’s first Observation Unit, which has seen over 7000 patients to date. Her role has also encompassed Director of Clinical Business Development Continuum Health Partners, an outreach program with goal of integration and affiliation into health system of primary care, sub-specialty sites and urgent care centers. Dr. Rizk received her medicine degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri, and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center. She belongs to numerous professional organizations including the Society of Hospital Medicine and has received a variety of awards and grants. She has had multiple national presentations and abstracts as well as publications. Her primary interests are patient safety and quality improvement, as well as public and global health. Dr. Rizk has a Masters Degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
