Biography

Dr. Ashley Doukas is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Clinical Director at the Center for Stress, Resilience, and Personal Growth. She is a clinical psychologist (licensed in NY and NJ) with expertise in the treatment of trauma-related disorders. She has experience working with veterans, first responders and survivors of the World Trade Center attacks, adult survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, and frontline healthcare workers. Her therapeutic approach is patient-centered and draws from interpersonal, trauma-informed, and cognitive-behavioral modalities. She takes a strengths-based and intersectional approach to treatment. In addition to symptom reduction, she also helps patients pursue meaningful relationships, valued activities, and personal growth. Dr. Doukas has also conducted research on emotion regulation and the treatment needs of healthcare workers.
