The Mount Sinai Academy of Physician-Scientists (MAPS) is an institutional initiative that strengthens the physician-scientist community across the Mount Sinai Health System by connecting trainees, fellows, and faculty. MAPS provides mentorship across career stages, career development programming, and advocacy for protected research time, while fostering collaboration across departments and institutes.
Through workshops, seminars, and networking events, MAPS supports physician-scientists in navigating key transitions—from training to independent research—and in securing fellowship and career development funding. The Academy advances a sustainable physician-scientist workforce by building community, enhancing mentorship infrastructure, and supporting long-term research careers.
